Conservation Governance, Institutions, and Legislative Processes

Gain an introduction to public land management (U.S. and international) by applying weekly course materials to course assignments in ways that align with professional practices in this sector. Students will learn about the opportunities and constraints in conservation that result from laws and bureaucracies. Students will also develop skills in writing policy briefs, communicating complex conservation challenges, and in developing management strategies for various types of “protected areas.”
