
Rebecca Larson is among 18 faculty members to receive the Vilas Mid-Career Investigator Award, which recognizes excellence in research and teaching and provides three years of flexible research funding.
An accomplished researcher and educator, Larson teaches INTER-AG 175: WISE Seminar, a one-credit course that brings together speakers from across math, science, and engineering to explore how research shapes everyday life. She also leads ENVIR ST 126: Principles of Environmental Science, connecting core environmental concepts to sustainability, conservation, and systems thinking.
Larson serves as Faculty Director of the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Learning Community and contributes to several campus initiatives, including the UW Organic Collaborative Governance Committee, the Nelson Undergraduate Committee, and the Nelson Issue Brief Executive Team. Her previous honors include the 2020 College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Equity and Diversity Award and the 2020 UW–Madison Postdoctoral Mentoring Award.
