MADISON, WIS. — Community members are invited to join local and national experts at UW–Madison’s 2025 Climate Change Symposium on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at Union South’s Marquee Cinema. The event is cohosted by the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies’ Center for Climatic Research (CCR), the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, and the Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts.
For the past decade, the Climate Change Symposium has brought together experts and community members alike to explore timely issues in climate science. This year’s event will explore climate solutions for building resilient communities — both in the sciences and society.
“The year’s symposium engages on the topic of climate resilience,” says Ankur Desai, CCR assistant director. “In the face of ongoing extreme weather events, natural disasters, and an evolving political landscape, how does the community, local organizations, and climate scientists continue their work? How can we all best support that?”
