Snapshot Wisconsin Volunteer Coordinator

This position will be responsible for assisting with the implementation and operational maintenance of the Snapshot Wisconsin program, a statewide trail camera research project to monitor wildlife. The primarily duties of this position include management and evaluation of the volunteer program, as well as performing quality control checks and recommending improvements. Other duties include but are not limited to conducting volunteer recruitment and retention activities. Some in-state travel may be required.

40% A. Volunteer Management:

  • A1. Manage existing volunteers through timely response to phone calls and emails from prospective and current volunteers.
  • A2. Provide volunteer onboarding and training.
  • A3. Conduct data entry and management.
  • A4. Identify and recommend improvements to volunteer management strategies

30% B. Perform quality control checks:

  • B1. Identify, and recommend strategies to rectify volunteer deviations from protocol.
  • B2. Run and maintain R and SQL scripts for identifying deviations from protocol.
  • B3. Correspond with volunteers that are behind on their camera checks, data entry or photo upload; have missing data; have errors in their data; or about other inconsistencies that arise.
  • B4. Perform regular audits of photo classifications from trail camera hosts, recommend solutions to identified issues.

20% C. Evaluate and implement volunteer recruitment and retention program:

  • C1. Research, recommend and implement strategies for improving the recruitment and retention of volunteers.
  • C2.Organize and manage volunteer appreciation events and attend as needed.
  • C3.Develop, manage and maintain partnerships with internal and external organizations.

10% C. Other duties as assigned
