This fellowship provides partial support for graduate students in the Nelson Institute who choose to conduct ecological research at the 360-acre Howard I. Potter Preserve in the Baraboo Hills north of Madison, now owned by the Aldo Leopold Foundation. It was made possible by a gift from the estate of Howard Potter, the first president of the UW Foundation, and matching funds from the Wisconsin Distinguished Graduate Fellowship Program.
