About the Panelists

JP Brummond

JP Brummond is vice president of generation at Alliant Energy Corporation (NASDAQ: LNT). He has over 30 years of experience in the utility industry, spanning a wide range of responsibilities and relationships with many great team members over those years.

He has enjoyed learning how to safely and reliably operate coal, gas, hydro and nuclear power plants, exploring the changes and opportunities available in the energy markets, and tackling the challenges of a variety of corporate support leadership roles.

Brett Korte

Brett Korte is a staff attorney at Clean Wisconsin where his work focuses on air, climate, and energy issues before state agencies and in court. He works closely with Clean Wisconsin’s policy and science experts to advocate for healthy air, climate mitigation, and a just transition to renewable energy.

Previously, he was a staff attorney and department head at the Environmental Law Institute in Washington, D.C, and a clinical fellow at the University of California, Irvine School of Law Environmental Law Clinic.

Korte holds a BA in history from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a JD and certificate of specialization in environmental law from Tulane University. He is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin, California, the District of Columbia, and Missouri.

The Sustainable Success Lecture Series is a partnership initiative between the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies and the Wisconsin School of Business’ Grainger Center for Supply Chain Management. Each spring, featured speakers from the private and nonprofit sectors come to share their focused efforts on environmental sustainability and its financial and environmental benefits.
