In March 2026, a delegation from the Nelson Institute shared an amazing two days in San Francisco and Palo Alto, California. The trip was designed to connect students and faculty in the energy analysis and policy (EAP) graduate program with global organizations advancing energy technology and policy. Attendees met with groups like Planet Lab, the World Economic Forum, Burning Man, and the Stanford University Electrification for Health Project.

Students also networked with UW–Madison alumni, including Ryan Kladar, who hosted a roundtable discussion on energy start-ups, and Martha Goodell, a Nelson Institute alumni award winner, who hosted an evening networking reception.
