Battery Management Specialist

This position will be responsible for leading the DNR Waste and Materials Management Program’s work to implement the state’s new battery recycling law, with support from other program managers and staff. Duties will include:

• Leading program effort to develop and distribute guidance documents, fact sheets, training and technical assistance for battery producers, current or potential battery collection sites, battery recyclers and local governments.
• Reviewing the stewardship plan and other documents submitted by the battery stewardship organization(s) and determining whether they meet statutory requirements.
• Working with other section staff to develop, implement and evaluate public outreach efforts to raise awareness of the new battery law and its requirements.
