Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership
The Restoration Manager is a technical expert responsible for leading the development and implementation of LNRP’s place-based and regional restoration initiatives. This position provides project oversight, fundraising, and administrative support for efforts focused on improving water quality in Northeastern Wisconsin, and serves as a resource for regional stakeholders engaged in conservation.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and self-driven, with a passion for conservation and a commitment to community-based impact.
Position Responsibilities
Programming (60%)
- Lead ongoing projects, including the Coastal Resiliency Community Impact Project, TMDL initiatives, Regional Reforestation efforts, and other related program work
- Work with the Partnership Coordinator to support Partner Groups for project planning, development and execution
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement for current projects and to inform the development of future initiatives
- Create and implement outreach, education, and engagement activities- including workshops and public events- to promote project work and increase the visibility of LNRP
- Build and maintain strong relationships with consulting firms, municipal staff, landowners, and other key partners to support effective project design and implementation
- Collaborate with the Program Director to strategically expand project focus areas
- Attend internal LNRP staff meetings and Partner Group meetings, as requested
Fundraising (20%)
- Lead efforts to secure funding, including grant writing and proposal development for restoration projects;
- Cultivate and manage relationships with project-based funders, including local businesses, to grow programmatic impact;
- Assist with broader organizational fundraising efforts such as events, appeals and donor relationship building, as needed.
Management (20%)
- Create and maintain grant-specific financial documentation and reporting for federal, state, foundation, and local grants
- Conduct grant audits and budget reconciliations as needed
- Support the Program Director in facilitating the Projects Committee, including material development and meeting participation
- Manage all aspects of the project-related contracting process, from consultant and vendor engagement to billing and invoicing
Position Location and Schedule Flexibility: All LNRP employees work remotely from a home office setting of their choice and design. Occasional in-person team and stakeholder meetings will be scheduled at locations throughout the service area. As such, employees are required to live in or near the LNRP service area (Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Calumet, Kewaunee and Door Counties). Employees are entrusted with the flexibility to schedule their work days as they deem appropriate and necessary but are generally expected to be available between the weekday hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Employees are responsible for their own transportation when in-person meetings are held (related transportation expenses are reimbursable).
Qualifications and Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, or a related field preferred (or equivalent professional experience);
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and engage diverse stakeholders;
- 3-5 years of experience in environmental restoration, watershed management, or related conservation work;
- Familiarity with Wisconsin landscapes, water resources, and regional environmental issues strongly preferred;
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including community members, nonprofits, government agencies, and technical partners;
- Understanding of nonprofit operations and best practices, including partnership development and program implementation is ideal;
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.

Salary and Benefits
Position will be salaried at 35 hours per week. The salary range for this position will be $50,000-$55,000 commensurate with experience. A monthly stipend of $35 is offered as an offset for home office expenses. No formal employment benefits are currently available to LNRP employees. Required tax deductions will be subtracted from the gross pay rate. Other personal expenses are reimbursed upon submission of expense reports on a monthly basis. Travel is to be reimbursed at the current mileage rate used by the Federal IRS.
Reporting Structure
The Restoration Manager will report directly to the Program Director. All LNRP positions are Employees At Will.
