About the Panelists

Kathy Kuntz

Kathy Kuntz is the director of the Dane County Office of Energy & Climate Change in Madison where she leads climate action efforts across Dane County. A strong advocate for results, Kathy has 30 years of experience implementing programs focused on resource efficiency and climate action.

Prior to joining Dane County Kathy led Cool Choices, a nonprofit that worked with businesses and local governments on sustainable practices, and prior to that, Kathy led Focus on Energy, Wisconsin’s statewide energy efficiency and renewable energy program. Kathy has a master’s degree from UW–Madison and a bachelor’s from the University of Minnesota–Morris.

Hannah Kasun

Hannah Kasun is an interdisciplinary sustainability professional with eight years of experience managing and contributing to a breadth of impact-focused projects. In her current role with SCS Standards, she works on the development and implementation of voluntary sustainability certifications to drive environmental and social change in the private sector, while ensuring transparency and preventing greenwashing.

In previous roles, Hannah has supported the development and implementation of sustainability programs in higher education as well as acted as a consultant for clients in the U.S. agricultural industry around topics such as pesticide risk mitigation, pollinator health, and regenerative agriculture. She holds a BA in environmental studies and food systems from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has completed graduate-level coursework in environment and development at the University of Copenhagen.

Matt Kuester

Matt Kuester is an engineering executive and product launch specialist with over 15 years of experience in manufacturing integration. A proud “double Badger,” Matt earned both his BS in mechanical engineering and his MBA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Currently, as director of supply chain risk and sustainable sourcing at Plexus Corp, Matt identifies global vulnerabilities and evaluates environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors to build resilient, sustainable value chains. His career spans mechanical engineering at Milwaukee Tool, international business development, and leadership of Plexus’s electrical and product development sourcing team. This unique background — bridging engineering, sales, and quality — provides Matt with a multidisciplinary perspective essential for navigating complex risks and creating innovative, sustainable sourcing solutions in highly regulated markets.

About Sustainable Success

The Sustainable Success Lecture Series is a partnership initiative between the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies and the Wisconsin School of Business’ Grainger Center for Supply Chain Management. Each spring, featured speakers from the private and nonprofit sectors come to share their focused efforts on environmental sustainability and its financial and environmental benefits.
