University of Wisconsin-La Crosse
The Sustainability & Environmental Studies Program in the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CASSH) at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse seeks qualified candidates for the position of Lecturer. This is a part-time (20-40%), temporary position beginning September 1, 2026.
Highlighting environmental justice and human interactions with the environment, the Sustainability & Environmental Studies program offers an interdisciplinary minor that brings together students from majors across the university. The bluffs, rivers, marsh, gardens, and urban infrastructure of the La Crosse area provide a living laboratory for class field trips and student projects.
Our new colleague will teach one or two sections of ENV 101 Introduction to Sustainability and Environmental Studies in the 2026 fall semester, with the potential for future semester contracts. These are in-person courses meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 85-minute class periods. The ENV 101 course fulfills a General Education campus requirement and recruits many students for the Sustainability & Environmental Studies minor.
We seek candidates who are practiced in experiential learning and who can teach from a wide variety of lenses in the humanities, social sciences, and life sciences. The Sustainability & Environmental Studies Program supports and values diversity in its staff and students. We therefore seek a colleague who shares our commitment to diversity and who will be a dedicated teacher, a collaborative colleague, and an effective mentor for students and staff with diverse backgrounds, preparation, and career goals.
