Weston Roundtable – The Politics and Governance of Food System Transformation

Speaker: Danielle Resnick, Senior Research Fellow, International Food Policy Research Institute

This lecture will focus on the politics and governance of transforming food systems for healthier and more sustainable outcomes, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. In doing so, the lecture will discuss who are key stakeholders — at global, national, and local scales — for improved food system governance and examine how their differing sets of interests, beliefs, and power differentials impact the viability of possible policy interventions.

The Weston Roundtable is made possible by a generous donation from Roy F. Weston, a highly accomplished UW-Madison alumnus. Designed to promote a robust understanding of sustainability science, engineering, and policy, these interactive lectures are co-sponsored by the Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE), the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the Office of Sustainability.
