Weston Roundtable – Power, Life and Ecological Maturity

Speaker: Nate Hagens, Executive Director of the Institute for the Study of Energy and Our Future, Host of The Great Simplification Podcast

In this Earth Day Lecture, Dr. Nate Hagens offers nine paths for individuals to cultivate resilience during uncertain times, in service of all life on Earth. From intellectual and ecological to spiritual and psychological, these act as signposts guiding the way through an uncertain future.

Perhaps, if we’re able to move beyond the goals of individual power and wealth toward collective wisdom and restraint, we might still be able to heal humanity’s relationship with the biosphere and revitalize our one and only planetary home.

This event is presented as part of Earth Fest.

The Weston Roundtable is made possible by a generous donation from Roy F. Weston, a highly accomplished UW-Madison alumnus. Designed to promote a robust understanding of sustainability science, engineering, and policy, these interactive lectures are co-sponsored by the Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE), the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the Office of Sustainability.
