Abstract

Trained as a sociologist, Dr. Chelsea Schelly uses the tools of her discipline to engage in collaborative team science projects on socio-ecological and socio-technological transitions. In this talk, Dr. Schelly will describe her experiences with research collaborations on topics such as energy system transitions, adoption of innovations, climate adaptation, and supporting decision making for community resilience and well-being.

She will reflect on how team science research driven by community engagement, co-production of knowledge, and collaborative partnerships can produce more informed and responsible research outcomes, share lessons learned from the past decade of success in funded team science projects, and advocate for a vision regarding the role of engaged team science in addressing 21st century challenges in research, education, and university partnerships.
