Join Nelson Institute Professor of Environmental Justice, Monica White, as she discusses agricultural resistance and the Black Freedom movement at this free, public lecture. Featuring research and excerpts from her new book, Freedom Farmers: Agricultural Resistance and the Black Freedom Movement, this lecture will expand the conversation surrounding community-based food systems by combining a historical analysis of agriculture as a form of resistance with first-hand accounts of the current food justice and sovereignty movements.
