Leveling Up Hits the Road: Careers in Land Conservation

Join the Nelson Institute for a career exploration field trip to Dodge County’s Horicon Marsh — the largest freshwater marsh in the United States. We will tour the wildlife refuge and learn about its conservation work, followed by a tour and lecture at Piece of Mined Acres. If you’re interested in conservation, restoration, and wildlife, you won’t want to miss this opportunity!

Transportation is provided. Attendees are welcome to travel on their own and attend for part of the day, but must still register and share arrival/departure information with the event team.

Tentative Itinerary

  • 9 a.m.: Depart Science Hall (transportation provided)
  • 10:30 a.m.: Horicon National Wildlife Refuge tour, lecture, and discussion
  • 1 p.m.: Bring your own lunch at Piece of Mined Acres, followed by tour, lecture, and discussion
  • 5 p.m.: Arrive back at Science Hall
