DeWitt to speak at Founder's Day February 5

Nelson Institute professor Calvin DeWitt will be the guest speaker February 5 when the Wisconsin Alumni Association and University Housing co-host a Founder's Day celebration at Memorial Union. DeWitt will discuss the university's history of discovery and ecological integrity in his talk, "Continual and Fearless Sifting and Winnowing: Prerequisites for Sustainability," at 2 p.m. in Tripp Commons. A free birthday cake reception will follow. All interested people are welcome. An annual event, Founder's Day marks the anniversary of the very first day of classes at UW-Madison, now 161 years ago.
