Nelson Institute affiliate Greg Nemet named World Citizen Prize recipient

October 30, 2019

Nelson Institute affiliate and La Follette School of Public Affairs Professor Greg Nemet has been named the inaugural recipient of the World Citizen Prizes in Environmental Performance. According to the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM), this award is granted by David and Joy Peyton and “recognizes research that assesses pathways to achieve measurable but as-yet unrealized gains in overall environmental performance, in particular to reduce consumption and waste.” In particular, Nemet is being honored for his book, “How Solar Energy Became Cheap: A Model for Low-Carbon Innovation” (2019), which explores the lessons solar energy can teach us about climate change innovations. This prize will be presented to Nemet at the APPAM 2019 Fall Research Conference in November.  Read more.
