Photos: Nelson Institute Earth Day Conference, ‘Everyone’s Earth’

Nearly 1,000 guests from across Wisconsin and the upper Midwest gathered April 25 at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center for the 10th Annual Nelson Institute Earth Day Conference, Everyone's Earth: Sharing Experiences on a Restless Planet.
Featured speakers included Kimberly Blaeser, Wisconsin's poet laureate and a teacher of creative writing and Native American literature at UW-Milwaukee; Carolyn Finney, a leading scholar on diversity and the environment and author of Black Faces, White Spaces: Reimagining the Relationship of African Americans to the Great Outdoors; Tia Nelson, managing director for climate, Outrider Foundation; Andrew Revkin, environmental journalist and author; Michael Shellenberger, co-founder and senior fellow, Breakthrough Institute; Jonathan Patz, director of the UW-Madison Global Health Institute; Sumudu Atapattu, director of Research Centers and senior lecturer, University of Wisconsin Law School; and David Quammen, award-winning science journalist and author.
