John Francis, a Nelson Institute visiting associate professor of environmental studies, spoke on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus Jan. 26 about the connections between silence and listening, humanity and sustainability, and faith and justice.
Francis, who just released his second book, The Ragged Edge of Silence: Finding Peace in a Noisy World, engaged participants through storytelling, music, artwork, discussion and interactive practice with silence. His talk was co-hosted by the Nelson Institute, the UW-Madison Multicultural Student Center and its Institute for Justice Education and Transformation.
Those who weren't able to attend can see video of Francis's talk below or at YouTube.
