Glossary:
Tribal Ecological Knowledge- the acquired knowledge, including science, of Indigenous peoples.
C3 Plants (Professor Kucharik) – Most common plant, does not have photosynthetic adaptations to reduce photorespiration. These plants are referred to as temperature or cool-season plants and are efficient in cool, wet climates. Examples: beans, rice, wheat, potatoes
C4 Plants (Professor Kucharik) – Plant that cycles carbon dioxide into sugar compounds to enter into the Calvin cycle. These plants are very efficient in hot, dry climates and make a lot of energy. Examples: corn, sugar cane
