Climate Change is a community health concern. It’s all connected. Through its impacts on Tribal members’ health and well being, climate change affects Tribal Sovereignty.
Community climate resilience comes through collaboration. Plan ahead to prepare for the challenges to come.
Questions here for your group to consider:
- Consider the issues and risks that were presented in Community Heath Connections. How are these risks showing up in your jobs? Are these risks addressed in Tribal policies?
- What kind of things could you or your department do to address these risks and challenges (from question 1), and reduce the impacts of climate change?
- Discuss how climate change connects with the variety of issues that impact community health. Keep in mind that there is no unique, or “correct” answer here– your group will probably find a lot of convoluted ways that they connect.
