Native Ways for Climate Change Adaptation

Native Ways for Climate Adaptation was a Tribal – University partnership funded by the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs from 2015-2017. The Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa collaborated with the Ho-Chunk Nation, and the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, the University of Wisconsin Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts, and University of Wisconsin Extension.

Native Ways for Climate Adaptation provides online tools for professional development training for Tribal natural resource and health departments. This work brings Tribes/Nations and the University of Wisconsin together to engage Tribal professionals with climate change science in the context of their traditions, work, and communities.
