In  March of 2015, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and its campus partners hosted the UW-Native Nations Summit on Environmental and Health Sovereignty.  At the Summit, we resolved to strengthen our partnerships with Tribal communities, which led to the creation of the Native Nations_ University of Wisconsin Working Group (NN_UW Working Group). To support the  NN_UW Initiative, I serve as the Working Group Co-Chair.

The first step taken was the development of the NN_UW Strategic Plan for 2017-2019. This plan acknowledges and supports the goal of strengthening Tribal sovereignty, particularly with regard to education, environment, health, and sustainable community development.
