The latest edition of Science Careers, a companion to the venerable journal Science, describes the Nelson Institute's Certificate on Humans and the Global Environment (CHANGE) graduate certificate program as one of a handful of training programs nationally "focused on coupling environmental problems (including climate change) with human health and well-being." The writer also notes that the CHANGE curriculum "includes a yearlong course on communication skills that teaches active listening, conflict resolution, and persuasive communication." A related article quotes Nelson Institute professor Jonathan Patz as recommending formal communication training for all scientists. Science Careers is published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
