Nelson Institute alumnus and Emeritus Board of Visitors member, Matt Dannenberg has been named the Senior Associate Director for President Joe Biden’s Presidential Personnel Office. During the campaign, Dannenberg served as Wisconsin Coalitions Director for the Biden-Harris Campaign having previously served as the Census Director at the nonprofit, Wisconsin Voices and in several roles with the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters. A proud member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Dannenberg has also been involved in the Native Vote program.
Prior to his successful career, Dannenberg attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received a bachelor’s degree in political science with a certificate in environmental studies from the Nelson Institute.
“From the beginning, Vice President Harris and I have sought to build an administration that looks like America. Building a diverse team will lead to better outcomes and more effective solutions to address the urgent crises facing our nation. The appointees named today will draw from their expertise and life experiences to help us build the country back better. Moving forward together, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish,” said President Joe Biden in a statement announcing Dannenberg’s role.
