The Property Planner serves as a statewide planning specialist providing hands-on, project-focused planning services related to the development and revision of management and use plans (master plans) for DNR properties. This person takes the lead on development of assigned statewide planning projects. Responsibilities are carried out utilizing assigned, integrated, and interdisciplinary planning process teams. Properties are planned in groupings of properties with similar ecological and use characteristics. The person in this role must gather, synthesize, and interpret information obtained from a variety of technical experts to deliver understandable, consistent, and functional planning documents and plans within a reasonable timeframe. Additional activities of this position may include identifying data needs, data analysis, topic research, planning team training, and coordinating public involvement related to property planning.
