The UW Madison Environmental & Occupational Health and Occupational Medicine Programs (EOH-OM) help assure that UW campus and affiliated facilities are safe and healthful for those who learn, live, work and visit. In addition to assessing campus locations for hazards, the EOH-OM Programs support regulatory compliance efforts and provide patient care services for staff and students who encounter workplace hazards at campus facilities.
This position is a student assistant in the Environmental and Occupational Health Department and is essential in helping with the day-to-day operations.
Job duties include
- Assists with water quality sampling and wet lab operations
- Assists with environmental assessments and inspections
- Assists with creating and implementing an electronic filing system
- Helps develop and implement lab SOPs for new projects
- Develops communication pieces for customer/stakeholder outreach
- Helps collect and transport samples or equipment throughout campus and/or research stations in Dane County
- Special projects as able
