Student Lab Technician – Inorganic Wet Chemistry

The Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH) serves as the public, environmental, and occupational health laboratory for the state of Wisconsin, and is part of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Position Summary/Job Duties

The employee in this position will work with a team of inorganic chemists. Duties include:

• Preparation of samples for analysis
• Receipt, organization and disposal of samples
• Assisting with the setup of nutrient digestions

Qualifications

• Enrolled university student for Summer and/or Fall 2022 semester
• Reliable transportation
• An interest or previous training in science and/or biology

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently after training

Schedule

• Generally 7:45 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday –Friday
• Expected start date is anytime after April 1, 2022
• Expected end date is September 3, 2022

Salary

• $13 per hour
