The Roy F. Weston Distinguished Graduate Fellowships are shared by graduate students in the Nelson Institute and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE).
These full fellowships are awarded to students interested in studying concepts and values of environmental sustainability. Special consideration is given to those who apply science and technology toward policy-making and finding practical environmental solutions.
There is no separate application for these fellowships. Rather, fellows are selected from the Nelson Institute and CEE graduate-program applicants based on their academic excellence, interdisciplinary breadth, sound background in science and technology, leadership potential, and communication skills.
The fellowships were made possible by a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Roy F. Weston with matching funds from the Wisconsin Distinguished Graduate Fellowship Program. Roy Weston is a UW-Madison alumnus and retired founder of an international management, design, and consulting firm.
