COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course covers air pollution as a public health issue. The course starts with a review of the principles of epidemiology, toxicology, risk assessment and the lungs. Then the major outdoor and indoor air pollutants are covered along with cigarette smoking, vaping and other current topics in air pollution and health. At the end of the course, engineering, policy and other solutions are discussed. This is a valuable course for any student interested in environmental health issues. High school biology will be sufficient for background.
