Earth Day Event Fund

This fund supports the Nelson Institute's annual Earth Day conference, which provides an accessible learning opportunity to the community at large. This is the Institute's signature event.

Your support for the Earth Day Event Fund will build on the legacy of an environmental visionary, the late U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson, and his original mission in founding Earth Day in 1970: to create an all-day "teach-in" on environmental issues.

The Nelson Institute Earth Day Conference gathers people from all sectors – colleges and universities, government, business, non-profit organizations, K-12 schools and the public – to learn from leading experts, and from each other. This accessible and welcoming community event features nationally prominent scientists, novelists, historians, advocates, business leaders and others, creating an unusual blend of perspectives that can generate fresh ideas and solutions to our most daunting environmental challenges.

Gifts to the Earth Day Event Fund will ensure that the annual Nelson Institute Earth Day Conference -- one of the nation's most remarkable, exciting and significant environmental events -- will continue to inform and inspire people for years to come.
