This image shows a flooded Coal Mine in West Bengal, India. This coal mine is about 250 km north of Kolkata. When this image was captured, the mine had been abandoned for some time. The village built on top of this mine faces the risk of ground sinking due to the flooding. In order to prevent the ground sinking, the mine has to be filled with sand. An underwater investigation consultant came to map and inspect this mine, and currently has his eye on it with high-end technology that allows him to map and record the condition of the mine.
