This image shows civilians—possibly family members—looking down into the stranded coal miners in West Bengal. Over 250 coal miners were stuck in different coal mines in West Bengal India. This resulted from a power outage, causing the elevators in the coal mines to shut down. They were stuck in the Sodepur and Satgram mines in West Bengal, and were helped out safely by the end of the day. While these workers were safe in this case, this picture and story show the worry and fear that miners and their families have to live with on a day-to-day basis.
