Biography: Samuel Dennis Jr, PhD, ASLA, is a geographer and landscape architect whose research and practice focus on creating environments that support human health and well-being. Professor Dennis received his MS (1996) and PhD (2000) in geography from the Pennsylvania State University and his MLA in Landscape Architecture (1991) from North Carolina State University. His current research engages communities in environmental assessment using a tool called participatory photo mapping. Dr. Dennis is Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture and has affiliate appointments in Environmental Studies, Family Medicine and Urban and Regional Planning.
