Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts revived under Governor's Task Force

This fall, Governor Tony Evers established the Governor’s Task Force on Climate Change in an effort to better understand the impacts of climate change on Wisconsin. This new task force, which will be chaired by Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes, will bring together organizations and individuals from around the state, including those involved in the Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts (WICCI), which is led by the UW-Madison Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Dan Vimont, professor, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, director, Nelson Institute Center for Climatic Research (CCR), and Steve Vavrus, CCR senior scientist, serve as co-directors of WICCI.
