New director
Dr. Stephen Ventura became the new director of Nelson's Land Tenure Center in September. Steve, who earned his M.S. and Ph.D. from the Nelson Institute, is a professor of soil science and environmental studies and director of UW-Madison's Land Information and Computer Graphics Facility. He is currently involved in applications of geographic information systems in land use planning, sustainable bioenergy crop production, land and resource tenure, and community and regional food systems. Steve succeeds Lisa Naughton, who directed the Land Tenure Center for more than three years.
