We also have AV equipment available from the Academic Programs Office including a laptop, LCD projectors, overhead projectors, speakers, and slide projectors.
All rooms and equipment should be reserved through WiscCal. Everyone affiliated with the University who has a NetID automatically has a WiscCal calendar.
The resources listed above can only be reserved through WiscCal even if you use a different calendar program on a regular basis. If you use a different calendar program, after you request a room or the AV equipment through WiscCal, you will need to update your other calendar (there is no link between WiscCal and other programs).
To use one of our new resources...
(these directions are for WiscCal on the web; the desktop client is slightly different)
I. Check for Availability:
- Log into WiscCal with your UW NetID and password.
- Click the "View Agendas" icon at the top of the page.
- Select the "Resource Search" radio button.
- Type "NIES" in the Search box.
- Click "Find"
- Select the room or equipment that you would like to reserve and click "View".
You will now see the schedule for the room or equipment, and you can see if the resource is available for the date and time you would like to use it.
II. Request the use of the room or equipment:
To request the use of a room or AV equipment, you need to "invite" the room or equipment to a meeting that you set on your own calendar.
- Open your own agenda, click on the "View Agendas" icon at the top of the page.
- Type your own name in the Search box and click "Find"
- Select your name and click "View"
- Click the "Create a Meeting" icon at the top of the page.
- Give your meeting a title and select the date, time, duration.
- Click on "People & Resources"
- Type NIES in the search box and select "Resources" from the drop-down menu, click on "Find"
- Click on the resource you want to invite (room or equipment) to highlight it and click "Add selected".
- At this point, if you opted to skip the "Check for Availability" step, click on "Check Conflicts" to see if the resource is available.
- When you have the details of your meeting set up, click on "Create" to schedule your meeting.
- An email will be sent to the Resource Reservation Administrator (a designated person in either the Nelson Institute administration or academic programs). The Administrator will approve or deny your request and send you a notification email.
